In March of 2010, I created a simple blog and authored a book for bands, Songwriters, Musicians, Solo Artists and Singer Songwriters. I was not
teaching promotion and marketing skills for indie filmmakers or anything on indie film distribution. I am having success with my own film and am now only teaching strategies that brought me to this level. There is a wealth of information going back to 2010 regarding distribution options for Indie Bands and the like. I will be updating distribution resources for indie bands, musicians, and filmmakers, as new ones are always popping up. Kindly understand that I’m presenting a few lessons here to get indie filmmakers started with promotion, marketing, and distribution ASAP. *CLICK HERE TO SEE MY BIG WIN THIS MONTH AT A MAJOR FILM FESTIVAL AND HOW YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH THE SAME* We are now a free online school including film and video makers for the first time. All of my musician friends and students have received a wealth of information on this subject. Please refer back to the archives on this.

I specifically address Indie Filmmakers in this article. I teach you some quick Indie Film Distribution options. Indie Filmmaker Distribution is available to you, regardless of your status within film festivals. This is true whether or not you are currently in acceptance by one. Indie Film Distribution is available for a large-scale audience. Please KNOW this. What I’m essentially saying is that, even if you “go it alone” (which I don’t recommend because it is difficult), you can still get your film released into many major online movie distribution sites. You can do this if your project is not a “recognized product” or “recognized selection” in a major film festival. I recommend getting a few positive press clippings first. You can do this by approaching some local newspapers or finding inexpensive PR. You will include quick, positive quotes on your marketing materials so people will take a gamble and watch your film.

To help indie filmmakers insistent on immediate distribution “right now,” here are some sources. I earn no money from them and you are legally on your own when working with them, as I am only pointing out these distribution resources and NOT promoting or endorsing any of them. Talk to a lawyer first if you need to. Most importantly, you can (and should) WAIT to distribute until your film gains better attention. After all, these options will always still be here, and many more will surface. Here goes:
1.) quiverdigital.com
2.) distrify.com
More to come!

[…] Because my film, A Love By Your Side, is a “short,” getting distribution would normally be a challenge, but it isn’t anymore, thanks to the companies I mentioned in my previous article dedicated to you. With this said, even A Love By Your Side can be picked up by a festival for distribution. *CLICK HERE TO DISCOVER THESE DISTRIBUTORS.* […]
